Family Getaway Update, Pt. 2 & Some Stitchy News

Phew!! We survived our weekend family getaway all in one piece and made it home safe and sound. Yesterday, Day 2 of the trip, proved a TON of fun! We took the kids to the zoo first thing in the morning and didn't leave there until after 4pm. We were all very tired, very fulfilled, and very h-o-t!! The heat index by 11am was 106...ugh. It didn't get any cooler, either. After we left the zoo and made the 3-hr drive home, we took care of some housekeeping responsibilities, hauled all of our stuff in from the car (it's amazing how much stuff is 'required' for a 2-day trip, lol), and sat down to watch TV/doze off. Today, we slept until we felt like getting up and managed to make it to the kennel to pick up Titan before he decided we must have forgotten him there. After lots of housework and some settling in time, the kids are happy, DH went back to work tonight, and I decided to post a couple stitchy updates and then get busy putting needle to thread.

First off, I've decided to restart Cabriolet. I'm a middle-of-the-pattern starter, normally, but with this one I decided it would be easier to follow the pattern if I started upper left. Tonight will be spent frogging the 30 or so stitches I've got in and repositioning the fabric to make a new start.

Second, I'm hoping to kit up All Hallow's Eve, a freebie from HAED and make a start on it also. I'd like to make a decent dent in it before the year is out. If there is still time in my evening after that, I'm hoping to get a few more stitches in on WWoG. It's coming along nicely and I don't want to lose my groove, LOL! I also plan to sit down and make some "deadlines", as in how much of a pattern I'd like to have stitched before a certain date/occasion. I haven't tried anything like that before and I don't know if it will work, but I figure it's worth a try. Besides, I work best under pressure :)

  1. I love All Hallow's Eve, I think that will be a fun stitch. I have tried to make deadlines, I am great at extending them.. I do think they help
