Blog Hop #11: Oddities

It's Blog Hop time again!! Here goes...

"What has been your most unusual or most interesting stash acquisition to date?"

I really, truly don't have anything all that unusual in my stash, to speak of. I'm pretty picky about what I buy and I try not to buy unseens, unknowns, or things that I don't think I'll use. If I had to pick something unusual, it would probably be a GIANT package of fabric I purchased at a yard sale for $2. It was marked Irregular Sizes/Pieces and it appeared to all be 14-ct Fiddler's Cloth, but when I got home and opened it up there were multiple pieces in different counts (14, 16, and 18) and many different colors (black, navy, drab green, snow white, peach). I was pleasantly surprised and none of the pieces were smaller than 9 x 9! I just happened to come across that package the other day when going through my stash, to kit for my Crazy January Challenge. Some of those pieces are actually going to see the light of day now :)

What's been your 'weirdest' acquisition??

  1. Now that is a serious score! I have found that the lack of fabric in my stash is starting to hold me back...methinks it is time to start hitting up yard sales :)

  8. The weirdest thing I have is also fabric. I bought a piece of tweeded type evenweave from my LNS's closing down sale. when I came to stitch on it I realised it was 26 count vertically but 32 count horizontally!! So actually a piece of unevenweave fabric LOL.

It's okay to stitch pictures on, you just have to adjust the pattern as they come out longer and thinner than charted.

Here's a link to something I stitched on it:
